A Grade II listed building, parts of which date back to the 16th century, Castle of Comfort nestles at the foot of the scenic Quantock Hills in West Somerset. We are a family run business and value getting to know our guests.

The nine en-suite rooms are individual, reflecting the character and charm of the oldest parts of the property, with those in the newly reinstated part having a more contemporary feel.  Access to the first floor is via a narrow winder staircase (no lift). Guests with more limited mobility may prefer to book one of the two ground floor rooms. We want all our visitors to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay, so please contact us if you have any particular requirements.

The lounge, with its large comfortable sofas and bar is a great place for afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks, or just relaxing with a good book on a chilly day. The 24 cover restaurant is open to residents and non-residents and booking is always advisable.

On a fine day you can enjoy the delightful tea garden or stretch your legs in the four acres of parkland, with stunning views down to the coast. There’s a fantastic outdoor heated pool available during the warmer months of the year.

The surrounding countryside and shore provide great walking and cycling opportunities with plenty of attractions and places of interest within easy travel distance.

Guests with pets are welcome but not all rooms are suitable for dogs, so please contact us to check before booking.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
